Our Training Approach


We believe that training should be customized and tailored to meet the needs of each of our clients, so we don’t offer cookie cutter, one-size-fits-all trainings. Our promise to you is that we will work hand-in-hand with you to help you determine what type of training and professional development topics would be best suited for you, your team, and your organization, and then we’ll develop our training to meet those needs.

To ensure we meet your training goals, all of our trainings include:

  • Pre-training planning meeting with you to discuss training needs, gaps, and goals

  • Design and development of training that is tailored to fit your unique team

  • Design and development of materials, often including pre-work and homework, to support and extend learning

  • Delivery of an interactive, engaging training that focuses on providing practical, relevant, and useful information to participants

  • Post-workshop evaluation and follow-up with you to ensure that your training goals were met

Willow Tree offers multi-day, full-day, half-day, and mini trainings, lunch and learns, and meeting facilitation. We often incorporate assessments, such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®, the Thomas-Kilmann® Conflict Mode Inventory, and 360 evaluations, into our trainings to give participants greater insight into themselves and their teams. Some of our most popular workshop topics with current and past clients include team building, conflict management, communication, managing a multigenerational workforce, transformational leadership, change management, creating a positive culture, developing emotional intelligence, and stress management.

Willow Tree Leadership Program

Willow Tree Training can work with your organization to create a comprehensive Leadership Development program that will provide courses, coaching, assessments, mentoring, and other resources to your employees at every stage of their careers, from individual contributors and new leaders to middle managers and executives. Professional development resources and the opportunity for career advancement are key components of employee retention, so we’ve created a program that will help your organization support your employees’ growth, cultivate their leadership skills, leverage their strengths, develop their blindspots, and enhance their overall ability to lead. While we do offer suggested training topics for each program level based on the needs of leaders at that level, this is not a canned training program that is the same for every organization. We will work with you to customize the program to meet your specific leadership development needs and goals, to ensure that every interaction with your leaders - from courses to coaching - is as unique as your organization.

Our Coaching Approach


Willow Tree Training is experienced in providing individual coaching for all levels of an organization, from top executives to individual contributors. Coaching topics can focus on a variety of areas, including leadership skills, communication, stress management, interpersonal skills, conflict management, and more. The process is consultative between the coach and client and is designed to help clients leverage their strengths, develop their blindspots, and improve their performance.

Often coaching is conducted in association with a relevant assessment. Assessments that we provide include:

  • The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (Certified Practitioner)

  • The Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI®)

  • 360 Assessments focusing on a variety of leadership competencies
